Fiido’s Titan Fat-Tire E-Bike: A Game-Changer in Electric Mobility

In recent developments, there is a growing trend in the electric bike industry where dual-battery setups are being employed to significantly extend the range of these vehicles. This addition of an extra battery substantially increases the distance an electric bike can travel on a single charge, while also maintaining the bike’s lightweight profile for shorter trips. E-bike manufacturers continue to explore ways to enhance the range of their products.

For example, the well-known Chinese e-mobility brand Fiido has introduced a new model called the Titan. This all-terrain electric bicycle features fat tires and comes equipped with three batteries, offering a claimed range of up to 400 kilometers on a single charge.

From a design perspective, the Fiido Titan combines elements of both a commuter bike and a fat-tire mountain bike. It features robust four-inch-wide tires and a low step-through frame for easy access, making it suitable for riders of varying heights. The addition of a suspension fork ensures a comfortable and smooth ride, and a built-in luggage rack at the rear enhances its practicality for daily use, with the ability to carry a load of up to 200 kilograms. To ensure safety and control, Fiido has equipped the Titan with four-piston hydraulic disc brakes that efficiently grip onto 203-millimeter rotors, ensuring reliable stopping power.

In terms of performance, the Titan is powered by a mid-drive motor with a robust 750-watt output, allowing it to reach a top speed of 45 kilometers per hour (28 miles per hour). The power delivery is managed by a torque-sensor-based controller, providing riders with up to five levels of pedal assistance, easily selected through a display on the bike’s cockpit. The Titan includes three batteries, with two acting as spares and located under the luggage rack, while the active battery is integrated into the bike’s downtube. Collectively, Fiido claims that these batteries provide an impressive range of up to 400 kilometers (250 miles) on a single charge.
